After almost 11 years at Symantec, I decided it was time to chase my dream of running my own business. I gave my notice, packed up my office, and said good bye to many of the good friends who remained behind. A couple of months later K2 Digital Defense LLC was born.
The company's web site goes into detail, but I'm hanging out the shingle for information security work. My specialties include information security policy development, database cryptography, and application security. If you need someone who is passionate about balancing business needs with security and has years of experience driving security in the world's biggest computer security company, drop me a line at [email protected]. I'd love to hear from you! You can also check me out on LinkedIn.
As you might imagine, after 11 years in a global company, you make a lot of friends in a lot of places. A few weeks notice is not enough time to personally say bye to each and every one. If you're one of those friends that I missed in my goodbye "tour", please accept my apologies. Feel free to also drop me an email!
My grandfather had a wonderful shop in his basement. To me, it was a place of mystery and fascination, and I would spend hours wandering through it, looking at all the tools and projects in various states of completion. Not being much of a wood worker, I've never had the need for such a shop (not to mention that I lack a basement), but recently it occurs to me that my gear, computers, and software are my shop. This site is for my late grandfather and everyone else who takes personal pride in carefully executed work.
